Linen + Elm Key Images (more to come)
Unobtrusively document the day. Peeking through doorways. Peeking through floral. Veil shots – ask the bride’s permission beforehand. Emotional moments, candids. Guests having fun. NONE of photographer in the shot. Getting ready, real moments. DETAILS. Tabletops fully lit candles (don’t shoot images unless tables are ready, ask the planner). Mom zipping dress. Hands (holding hands, rings, mom or dad hands).
Our Training // Linen & Elm Photography is always investing in our business, and continually evolving. We are current Sage Journey students, taught by Otto and James with James x Schulze (Vogue’s “Best Wedding Photographers in The World”). We recently participated in a Miami photography retreat managed by AMV Weddings, worldwide luxury wedding planners. My associate photographer is an on-field photographer for The University of Cincinnati Bearcats football team.
Our Editing Style // Our signature style is clean, soft, and romantic. We average around 50-75 images per hour of shooting, each hand-edited. We embrace movement, sunlight and love black-and-white images. While the majority of your gallery will include traditional photos, we mix it up with our own artistry. We take into account the setting, the light, the weather, the florals, and your colors to arrive at a final, custom edit which is presented in your sneak peek gallery.
Good photography is storytelling…without words.
Trends // Couples that hire us typically want an elegant timeless gallery, but don’t mind a few fun trends to include in their final gallery. Examples of these trends are motion blur, polaroids and grainier, vintage-looking edits. We love it all!
Posing // Real moments that are unexpected candids and unposed is our ultimate goal. This candid style is called documentary style photography. We do prompt you throughout the day but the ultimate goal is to look natural. If your smile grows tired, laughing is always the cure! Couples portraits are a combination of posed and unposed. These are some of the most important images of the day. Group portraits are typically posed.
